STORY / LORE
At the edge of LakeFinity Lake, the old fishing hut leans toward the water, its beams creaking like the oars of a forgotten boat. Few know the truth of what happened there, but all whisper of the legendary duel.
It is said that long ago, a gathering of fishermen—some say two rivals, others claim as many as six masters—met at the hut to prove who among them was the greatest. They cast their lines into the dark waters and brought forth creatures no one had seen before: fish born of storms, fish veined with ice, fish that shimmered like molten coin.
These were no ordinary catches. Each fisherman’s prize was set against the others, champions clashing in battles that churned the lake itself. For days and nights, the duel raged: anglers shouting challenges, fish colliding in spray and thunder, the lake roaring as if alive.
But the true quarry—the Myth of the Lake named “The Eternal Fin”, a shape-shifting spirit-fish said to hold all the waters within it—remained uncaught. When the duel finally broke apart, no victor was crowned. Yet the lake itself seemed to awaken, binding the contest into its depths.
Since then, every time fishermen gather at the hut, the duel begins anew. Each cast may bring forth not just a catch, but a champion. Each victory is written into the memory of the water. Each loss stirs the depths, where the Myth still waits. And losers of the battle collect in the forgotten zone with bones lying on the ground and eventually devoured by the mud and sand…
Here at Lake Finity, the line between angler and warrior blurs. For the lake has no end, and the duel is never done.
